For decades, Americans believed that fat-free diets were the only way to go. It began in the 1950’s when Saturated Fats – like meat, dairy, and cheese – became public enemy number one. Studies published that linked Saturated Fats with increase rick of weight gain, heart disease, and stroke. However, recent theories have all come toppling down. Just think about it. If buying into the fat-free craze was the answer, why is America fatter and more at risk for heart disease than ever before?
Most people don’t realize that America’s vendetta against fat has created more problems than it solved! Food manufacturers made big bucks by pumping sugar and sugar substitutes into fat-free products to make sure they still tasted good. They also started using hydrogenated oils (aka Trans Fat) instead of the more natural and less processed Saturated Fats. Basically, they replaces the evil Saturated Fats with substitutes that are much worse….Refined sugars and Trans Fats have played a key role in the increase of diabetes, stroke, heart disease, cancer, depression, AND obesity in America. If you are going to cut back on anything, make it sugar and Trans Fat.
